Jacqueline Cottrell

Dynamic chef & Managing Director Jacqueline Cottrell started deWintons, one of the top London Catering companies, from scratch over 14 years ago before joining forces with friend & business partner, James Symington.

Not only does Jacqueline love the creativity of cooking & the challenge of devising tantalising menus but she also gets really excited by the presentation aspect of running a London catering company.

As Jacqueline says: “One of the biggest wow factors in outside catering these days is the design side of food. We make fabulous food but also think really hard about how we present it & always make sure there’s superb party planning. I get a real kick out of dreaming up great ideas for events such as live cooking events & extravagant buffet set ups.

“One of our most successful was a scrumptious home-made ice-cream station with every variety & combination of topping imaginable- chocolate sprinkles, flakes, smarties, hot molten chocolate sauce & even our own salted caramel sauce to drip down the side of a bowl of Hokey Pokey ice-cream. It was sensational!”

Jacqueline has become a really well known personality in the London catering field and is often asked to appear on TV shows & in magazines. Before setting up deWintons, Jacqueline trained at Leith’s School of Food and Wine - one of the best catering colleges for chefs - and worked for world class chef Anton Mosimann OBE, at his iconic restaurant The Belfry in London’s Belgravia which included event catering in London.

James Symington

James is a great people person & believes in delivering outstanding customer service. He is never afraid to go one step further, perhaps one might say over the top to achieve the best results in town. James’s willingness to please, combined with a love of a social occasion make him the perfect boss of the best catering company in London. Clients love his energy & joie de vivre!

This stems from his previous front of house experience of running well known pubs & catering services in London. As the first Gastro Pubs started in London James found himself running the Chelsea Ram. With his natural flair & ability to organise people & create a feel good factor it was inevitable that he would fall into the London party scene, running deWintons a top London Catering company.

With a string of celebrities going through his pub asking for his expertise in outside catering it was a natural process with his experience it has lead him to be co-owner of one of the top London Catering companies. He has a flair for developing new business & clients love working with him.

James & Jacqueline form a dynamic partnership with their shared commitment to excellent event catering in London & beyond.
